Slacks are defined as trousers for casual wear. While we don’t hear that term much these days, we think it is time to embrace it again. The Free Range Slacks pattern is as easy to wear as its name. You will feel free to roam in the comfort of a stylish, elastic high waist when you wear these pants. Although they were designed with linen in mind, these pants are so comfortable that we think you will want to make them in a multitude of fabrics and wear them all year long in any season.

There are two options - a tapered leg version and a straight, cropped version. Both have an elastic high waist, side panels, front pockets that are topstiched in place from behind, and an optional back patch pocket(s). The tapered legs look great rolled up so the finished garment measurements show rolled and unrolled measurements and the instructions include options for French and flat-fell leg seams.

Lift your fashion game with these statement wide leg pants. A tailored fit through the waist and hip means a crisp silhouette to balance out the flared leg. Nagoya features a double-stud waistband at the natural waist, curved front pockets, front fly, back darts and your choice of three different lengths – ankle length, cropped or shorts.

Suggested fabrics: Can be made with a range of light to medium weight woven fabrics from cotton or silk to denim or wool. Dream big!

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Long length, 2.1 m (2 1/4 yd) // Cropped length, 1.7 m (2 yd) // Shorts, 1.2 m (1 1/4 yd).

Sizing: XXS – XL (approx. U2 2 – 18). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 0.4 m (1/2 yd) of 140 cm (55″) wide fusing; 2 dome/snap sets for waistband closure; 12 cm (4 3/4″) trouser zipper; matching thread.

Olo is a relaxed but elegant set that consists of a long sleeve tee and wide leg pants with high, elasticated waist and no side seams. You can sew the straight-cut tee as either a dainty rolled-hem funnel neck, or a deep V-neck with binding. The blouse hem, sleeves and leg openings can all be finished with a rolled lettuce edge hem or a simple turn up.

Fabric suggestions: Light to medium-weight knit fabric with approx. 40 – 50% stretch. A lighter and slightly drapey fabric is recommended for the rolled hem variation, while the V-neck works better with medium-weight, stable knits. For yardage requirements see chart below.
