Artist and illustrator Lee Mero, working at his home studio in south Minneapolis here, was described recently by the National Association of Greeting Card Manufacturers as the dean of American greeting card artists. Mero drew the wise men, angels and clasped hands that decorated Christmas cards after the turn of the century. Now a commercial artist, he still spends part of the year designing cards. Mero uses an atlas, encyclopedia and the National Geographic magazine to check the Holy Land, western or country style Christmas drawings.
