Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, is among the most-anticipated films of 2022. Featuring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles, the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' Hollywood classic Forrest Gump is confirmed to hit the theatres this year on August 11. Last month, after a long wait, the makers finally unveiled the trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha and fans loved it. However, a section of social media users called it a sasti copy of Forrest Gump and even criticised Aamir's performance in it.Interestingly, the iconic Forrest Gump dialogue of the lead character's mother comparing life to a box of chocolates has been given a 'golgappa' twist in Aamir's film. The Laal Singh Chaddha version goes: Maa kehti thi zindagi golgappe ki tarah hoti hai, pet bhale bharjawe, mann nahi bharta [My mother used to say life was like golgappa. Your tummy might be full but your heart never is.The comparison left social media users bitter as Forrest Gump fans slammed Laal Singh Chaddha makers for ruining a classic dialogue. Now, days after the trailer release, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta too has trolled the 'golgappa' scene. Taking to his Twitter account, the Shootout At Lokhandwala director wrote, One reason I'm dying to see this film is who is selling Golgappas in a moving train. Several netizens reacted to his post, including the self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan aka KRK. Reacting to it, KRK wrote, Hahahaha! Bhai Kahkar Leli Aamir Ki. Another user tweeted, Movie se logic ko dur hi rakhna chahiye..A third comment reads, Now certified plagiarism expert director will troll aamir khan???For the unversed, Laal Singh Chaddha spans over five decades with Aamir playing a Sikh guy. Jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Paramount Pictures, and Viacom Studios, the film also features Mona Singh, South star Naga Chaitanya, and Manav Vij in key roles.
